ABOUT LAJA TRUST

Walking with young people and families toward stronger, more connected lives.

Laja Trust is a registered Trust organisation incorporated in Kenya by Kenyan founders. We play a part in strengthening social cohesion in families through adolescents and youth.

A name that speaks to what we hope to strengthen.

Laja is a Yoruba word meaning reconciled. It reflects our interest in the relationships and transitions that shape young people, families and communities.

Our work focuses on life transformation programmes for adolescents from about age 9 through young people up to 24, alongside work that strengthens families and supports the people who walk with them.

FAITH. HOPE. LOVE.

These are part of the foundation from which Laja Trust works.

They shape our understanding of people, relationships, purpose and the possibility of meaningful change.

Influence a generation of wholesome and impactful leaders.

Design and implement coaching and mentorship programmes that empower, equip and guide adolescents through the transition into adulthood and bring out the leader in them.

We look at the whole journey.

Laja Trust's teen transformation work is centred on practical areas that help adolescents navigate life and transition: managing self, managing others and their environment, managing decisions, and purpose.

Alongside this, our family wellness work includes parenting, youth education, communication, stress management and child development, with partnerships helping extend the reach of this work.

WHY LAJA?

Because stronger people and stronger relationships matter.

We believe meaningful work with young people is strengthened when families, communities and partners are part of the conversation.
